  • Warped brake rotors, I’d bet. Have you driven through water and/or heavy rain while braking hard recently?

  • get those rotors resurfaced or buy new ones. also check that the pads are worn out evenly. if not, get new brake pads

  • Cars always shake when they break. Cars aren’t supposed to shake when they brake.

  • Feel it in the steering wheel and brake pedal it’s the front rotors, feel it in your ass it’s probably the rear.

    Excess runout in rotors and will need to be resurfaced if within spec or just replace, rotors are relatively cheap.

  • My ’12 Highlander is the same. I cheaped out last year and changed only the brake pads and now I have to not only change the rotors but also another set of pads and flush the brake fluid.

  • Replace new front rotors. Toyota’s rotors are most DIY friendly design among all cars in the US market.
